Dearest Tylie,

We still can’t believe it, but isn’t it great, our daughter has reached the unique age of eight.
It wasn’t that long ago you came to us, so precious, so tiny, we made such a fuss.
We counted each finger, we stroked your dark hair; we held you and loved you with such tender care.
So many hearts welcomed you; oh what a day – when Heavenly Father sent Tylie our way!
As if overnight you kept growing and growing, with each passing phase, personality showing.
You smiled and cooed then you learned how to talk, you rolled and you crawled then you learned how to walk.
You embraced each new thing with such simple delight, such a positive spirit you brought so much light.
Curiosity ruled as you found a way to get all that you could out of every new day.
So girly on one hand with hair bows and hugs, and yet you’re no stranger to snakes, dirt and bugs.
Your love for all animals makes your life fun, especially horses; they’re your number 1!
Such joy in your laughter, such pain in your tears, you’ve brightened our home for the past 8 great years.
And now marks a special one, Tylie you see; for you’ve reached the age of accountability.
You’re here to be baptized, to become a new member, a day you should make it a point to remember.
Your love for the scriptures, your love for what’s right, will help you continue to follow the light.
The light of the gospel will help you to see, the eternal promise that can be yours Tylie.
Your parents and others are proud of you today, because you have chosen to live the right way.
The angels in Heaven are smiling down too, Family and Friends, we’re ALL proud of you.
Take that same love for animals with that same curiosity, and apply it to the gospel to be all that you can be.
We know you’ll go far because that’s what you do, and Tylie, we couldn’t be more proud of you.
We love you dear Tylie, we’ve awaited this day, and now that it’s here we have these things to say:
“Thank you for being the girl you are, our daughter our friend, and our bright shining star.
Say your prayers, read your scriptures, and stay clean and pure, and Tylie you will never want for anything more.”

We love you
Your Family

As promised, the poem from the baptism! Isn't my mom the best!!!!
