"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
It is October again which usually means only one thing for Cole, and that is the deer hunt in Pine Valley! It has been the family gathering place for many years. His grandpa Frank is from there, and it is a very special memory for Cole, and all his family members year after year! Well this year was even more special, because I got to be there, with most of the family, and Tylie was baptised in St. George the same weekend. It was a very special day, and even though I felt very unprepared, and underdressed (I left much of my needed accesories like, my outfit, Cole's shoes, Teigens whole outfit, and so on, and so on) at the cabin. It was the most beautiful day, and the spirit was so strong at the baptism. All of Cole's brothers, and his dad, and even Cole, and Teigen sang Armies of Helaman, and it was so perfect! We had such a good time as a family! On Saturday we all woke up, and were at the cabin, some of the boys were golfing, and we got a horrible phone call, that will change all of our lives forever! Our beloved grandpa Frank died on Saturday, September 21, while deer hunting with 2 of his grandsons. For some reason or another he was not able to go to Pine Valley, like he had done every year with his family. So he took Jordan, and Adam up to hunt, because that's just grandpa always looking out for every one else. He hiked up the mountain, and even shot a deer, and then suddenly had a massive heart attack! We will never know why God took him from us so suddenly, but I do know one thing, the lord works in mysterious ways, and it isn't just a coinsidence that grandpa died on the opening day of the deer hunt doing what he loved the most!!! And it helped Cole, and I to be able to be in the presence of family to grieve together, in Pine Valley the place grandpa loved the most!!! WE DO NOT REMEMBER DAYS, WE REMEMBER MOMENTS! And Grandpa Frank we will all remember the moments we have shared together! We love you, and you will always be with us. Thanks for all you have taught us about love, and life! Annilee
