Have you ever...

have you ever
had a friend so
great she would
go out on a ledge
for you...

or spend hours
cleaning
the twice melted
ice cream in
the bottom of
your freezer

or so awesome
she is willing
2 get her hands
downright dirty
just 4 you

and dust all
the hidden
places i could
never quite reach
in all the many
years i was there

or a friend
who would
fly to LV
spur of the
moment and
throw you the
best goodbye party
of your life

or leave you her
shoes because your
feet hurt and u
wanted 2 stay and
dance the night away

or a friend who
was willing 2 drop
everything and go
2 the late night
movies, lunch,
or last minute
trips 2 tai pan

or had a friend
so spectacular
they are willing to
go elbows deep on your
dingy greasy oven
even while on vacation
a friend you can
also call mom

i know i have!!!

and i find myself
thanking god
every day
4 these angels
in my life

believe me
when i say
these are just
a few examples
of the wonderful
friends in my
life

this is one
of the
hardest things
i have ever done
in my whole
life

who knew we would
leave so fast
and so furious

with so many
untied and
very loose
ends

these girls have
families and
struggles of their
own

yet they took
time 4 me
and my precious
family

and right now
it is these
acts of compassion
and kindness
that carry me
through

right now it
is their listening
ears and irreplaceable
memories that will
sustain me

i have been so
blessed over
the years and
across many miles
2 make the best
friends around

although i could
never picture
them all in one
blog post

please know
you have
all touched
my life in
one way or
another

and always remember

many people will
walk in and out
of your life...
but only true
friends will leave
footprints on
your heart

you have all left
footprints so
deep, i feel like
i have a good trail
2 follow until i
can find my way

i love you

I'm a true believer in "you get what you give" and I have no doubt that you would do any of these same acts of kindness and more for your friends as well. Friends and family are the best, they are what gets us through the challenging times and I'm so glad that you are so blessed because you really do deserve it!

This is beautiful! I have to admit I came upon your blog accidentally (please don't think I'm horribly creepy!), but I'm glad I did. Even the simplest words you write turn into poetry. What beautiful writing.

mwuahhhh! you're too kind DJ Jaz-annilee. And there's NO way a little dusting gets me even to your cookie-making, drop-a-card-and-thankful-somethin'-or-other, loooong phone convos, and great friendship you've given me (and us!) OK is lucky to have you. . . and don't worry, you'll start finding random strangers at the curbside of your kids' school and voila, in 5 years we'll be a glimmer in your star-filled friendshippy sky. (Does that even make sense? Heavy drugs tonight, girl!) Love ya!
