we have had a certain
christmas tradition
since my baby girl
cried through the whole
first performance
and i swore i would never
go back

but as she grew up
she would beg every
year to go

even after she had
watched the dvd
a million and one times

and now christmas
would not be christmas
without attending
some performance
of the forgotten carols

i was able to go with
my favorite tween-ager
my mom and my sister
this year

what a magical night
and instead of me
comforting my crying baby
through the whole thing

she held me

oh how i love
these girls

and the christmas spirit
and the simple way
michael mclean has of
touching my heart!
